It turns out that the monthly “Cousin Night O’ Fun” goal may have been a tad bit ambitious for our family. The good news is, failure to keep goals doesn’t seem to keep us down. We’re pretty resilient like that. So, undeterred by our track record, we decided to give cousin bonding another try. The result, the biggest Cousin Night O’ Fun on record! Here’s how the night went down:
We stopped to take in a fashion show along the way. Yes, the picture below is a self-portrait, but before you get too excited, I have to thank the sketchy looking man standing next to me who helped me line the shot up. To you sir: Thanks for your help with the picture. And an even bigger thank you for not trying to steal my purse.
I’m not sure what happened in the next picture. People were standing. Kate was kneeling. I thought I’d split the difference and do the classic girl picture pose: knees slightly bent with hands on knees. Why do we do that? I’m not sure, but I’ve studied it and it’s a pretty common thing. It must be some sort of girlish instinct.
Put one more Cousin Night O’ Fun down in the record books. Until next month’s edition! (Which is really “this month’s edition” since I’m a couple of weeks late in blogging about this. “Stick with what you’re good at,” is what mom always says. I don’t think she meant it to apply to procrastination. Oh well.)
