Snow Day

A few weeks ago I went with a group of friends up to Soldier Hollow to go tubing. They have big hills and a tube lift. That’s right, you just sit in your tube while it pulls you up the mountain. It’s tubing for the lazy really, and somehow, I’m ok with that.
Here we are just before our first trip up the mountain. Look at the promise, the excitement, the wonder in our eyes! Ok, really it was noon on a Saturday morning and we were all wondering what we were doing out of bed so early.
It was all fun and games until you read the WARNING!! on the tube. Are you for real? “SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT FROM TUBING” Talk about your buzz kill. I’m accident prone like crazy. How am I supposed to have fun when you post a warning like that?
I think Sharley must have just read the warning label too.
What you can’t tell from this picture is that this is actually an action shot. We were cruising down the mountain racing with a group of guys we met up there. I don’t quite remember, but I’m pretty sure either we won, or they cheated. Isn’t that the way it always works?
Mid way through–we’re all still smiling, and no one has been maimed or killed yes, so all in all, things were going quite well.
At the end of the day I did have a brief mishap where I may or may not have had to be helped out of my snow pants. Let’s just say that I had the brilliant idea to not waste my time taking my boots off before trying to take my pants off. The first leg came off without a hitch, but the second proved to be a little more challenging.

After tubing we headed to Heber for lunch, then hit up the outlets for a bit, and then headed back home. It was a fun day. Sadly, no land speed records were broken, but neither were any bones, so we’ll just call it a draw.
