I guess maybe you’d like to know what happened between the end of September and now. Ok, I realize that you probably don’t actually want to know, but I am on the road to becoming a better blogger, and while I hate “catch up” blogs, I always feel like I can’t begin blogging from where I am until I’ve blogged about what has happened since my last post. A little anal retentive? Probably. Deal with it. Here goes:
September 25th: Penna Powers Brian Haynes (PPBH) 25th Anniversary Party
My work had a big anniversary party to celebrate 25 years of being in business. The party had a rock star theme so we all got dressed up in our best rock star outfits which included puffy painting the shirts the company had given us. That’s right, nothing says “rock star” like a t-shirt with glittery puffy paint on it. If AC DC could see me now. Here’s what the getting ready process looked like for me . . .
My friend Machel was on hair and makeup duty. It’s right up her alley. First order of business – crimp my hair. Yeah, I haven’t done that since the sixth grade. Ever since this day Machel has been convinced that crimped hair is my perfect look. Um, thanks?
Next up – spray the living daylights out of my hair to make it stay put. I think we single-handedly destroyed the ozone layer in one night. It was for a good cause though.
The finished product. Thanks Melanie G. for taking this perfect picture complete with a blinging earring.
With the perfect look completed I had to show it off in a photo shoot. Oh yeah, who’s hot? Yikes!
Machel, Vanessa, Jane, Lauren, Melanie G., and me, a few of the PPBH girls showing off our new looks.
The party was a success. Here’s a shot from the end of the night. One of us is still sober. I guess we’re officially friends who cuddle. I was just as surprised as anyone.
September 26th: University 13th Ward Golf Scramble
The ward had a golf scramble the morning after my work party. At the last minute I opted to wash out my crimped hair. I thought it might frighten the ward members and any small children I may encounter if I didn’t. Take a good look at this group . . . you’ll see some of these faces later.
October: Ward FHE Pumpkin Carving
Recognize anyone? You’ll probably be seeing more of these two faces in the future.
November 26th: Thanksgiving
The entire family got together at my sister Laurie’s house for Thanksgiving. It’s a fun time and a rare occasion that we are all able to get together.
December: Ward FHE Gingerbread House Decorating
I think I should probably steer clear of building houses in the future. My house is on the left and doesn’t look all that great. It’s ok though, I’m sure I have other talents. I’ll let you know when I figure out what those are.
Yay! I think that’s all for the catching up. Now to become a better blogger . . . I’ll keep working on it.
